Arden-Arcade Employment Law
Arden-Arcade (also known as Arden) is the community in Sacramento county that lies east of the city of Sacramento, and west of the community of Carmichael.
Minimum Wage Requirements in Arden:
Arden doesn’t have any city-based wage ordinances, so that means the minimum wage defaults to California’s state minimum wage:

- $13/hr for large employers (having 26 employees or more)

PAID Sick Leave Requirements in Arden:

California passed the Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act in 2015, which mandates paid sick leave for employees who work in California for 30 or more days within a year from the beginning of employment. And the law applies to all employers regardless of size.
- Every employee is entitled to 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked
- Paid sick leave must carry over from year to year
- Employers can place a cap on accrual of 48 hours
- Employers can limit an employee’s use of sick leave to 24 hours per year
- Employers can also require employees to take sick leave in at least two-hour increments, but not more
